It's been a while....

Life has been busy.  A little too busy at times.  I started working as a Family and Child Specialist for Children's Aid Society on March 2.  I love being back at work!  I'm studying right now to take my Bachelors Level Social Work Licensure exam and then I get a little promotion, fun stuff!  The test seems pretty hard though, So I'm going to do some pretty serious studying before I attempt it.  Not to mention the fact that I just don't test well, never have.

Caden stays with Jonathan's mom during the day while I'm at work.  It makes leaving him during the day a LOT easier!  She loves the time with him, and he seems to have too much fun throughout the day to miss me too terribly much.

Speaking of Caden, the kid is a NUT!!!  He is growing and learning and getting cuter and smarter by the day!  He is all over the place these days!  Crawling, pulling up on anything and everything, even taking a few steps here and there.....as long as no one is looking.  haha, guess he doesn't like an audience while he learns new things!  All this mobility, however, is becoming somewhat dangerous!  Caden has already experienced his first bloody nose and his first black eye.  Learning to walk is risky business and falls do happen, no matter how hard we try to prevent them!

Caden is also learning more words by the day! He is copying sounds, which is absolutely hilarious.

And I guess I could mention now, as he stands in the middle of the floor crying, my kid is SPOILED. Yes, I admitted it. He's rotten.  I can't help it, he's just too cute!  I guess I learned a valuable lesson for the next time around ;)  No, not anytime soon!

Anywhoo, thats about it.  Caden's first birthday is June 11, and we are planning a big party for him on June 13.

Thats my update for now, I'll try to get better about keeping up with this thing. Promise.

Things they don't tell you....

There's a lot of things people never tell you.
Especially when it comes to having a baby.
and marriage, but thats another story for another time.
Back to the things people never tell you about having a baby.

Just because your baby is 7 months, almost 8 months old doesn't mean the hard work is over and life gets easier. Sleep is still just as hard, if not harder to come by. I'm not sure what in the world has gotten into our son, but he just doesn't sleep. He is/was fighting his second ear infection. Finished his antibiotics so I doubt its that. Teething? Maybe its teething? Everynight is a guessing game and I'm completely EXHAUSTED!

And accidents, how about accidents. No one warns you that as soon as your little bundle o' joy becomes mobile that accidents galore are waiting around every corner! Poor Caden took a tumble off the bed this week. Turn your head for even a second and they're taking head dives off the side of the bed. He's ok, it was scary for us though. Then the next day he's sitting on the floor playing with toys and WHAM! He flailes backwards and bangs his little head on the floor. I'm starting to wish plastic bubbles were sold at babiesrus. I would buy one, no lie.

Well, there's my thoughts for today.
Caden is all over the place!!

oh, and yeah. I have a job interview tomorrow. Someone cross their fingers and say a prayer for me ;)

"Nana"

Caden said "Nana" today. Whaaaaat?
Nana before "mama". Break my little heart! gah!
Now I'm determined to hear him say "Mama".
Especially as I sit here right now listening to him say "nana nana nana". Go figure.
At least he's talking.
I figured I'd add a couple wedding pictures.
There will definitely be more to come.

This last one isn't a wedding pic, but I figured I would throw a picture of Jonathan and I up here since I don't have a wedding one of us yet.

And it begins

I figured I should start this blog for a number of reasons, however, the main reason is that life just simply moves too fast. Things happen, babies grow up, and I'm terrible at keeping in touch with life, especially lately as it just seems to fly right by.

So this is my attempt to better keep the ones I love informed with whats going on in our lives as of late.

Sunday, January 18, 2009 Jonathan and I were married. It was a very small ceremony at his dads church and we're planning a reception for a later date when our families will be able to make it out.

Caden is now 7 months old. It's hard to believe that the past seven months have flown by as fast as they have! He is already learning to crawl. There's nothing cuter than seeing him up on all fours rocking back and forth. Occasionally he'll take a leap forward, but he hasn't figured out how to catch himself, so it normally results in a face plant into the carpet. He's a tough boy, he doesn't mind. Caden is also starting to eat "big boy" snacks. Yogurt melts and cheerio puffs. It's adorable to watch him chew them up! I love it! No constant words yet though, an occasional "dada" which of course Jonathan loves. I'm still waiting on "mama".
Here he is in his new "big boy" carseat that Jeff and Sherry bought him a few weeks ago. He likes this thing much better than he did the smaller carseat/carrier.
